I am currently developing new photographic projects devoted to the duality of presence and appearance, the contemporary experience of the premodern, and the emergence of the post-human. These projects belong to my personal artistic work on Hylonicum and are completely independent from my professional role.
I am looking for collaborators in and around Messina: photographers interested in shared photographic explorations and, especially, adult participants willing to take part, as photographic subjects, in constructed and staged portrait sequences. The aim is to create visual stories about the meaning of “humanity” today and, possibly, in the near future. I am interested in the fragile point where appearance begins to crack and allows something less controlled, less decorative, and more difficult to grasp to emerge: a humanity that is too human and almost post-human.
In return, I offer a carefully prepared photographic session, a selection of edited images, and, where appropriate and agreed in advance, a small compensation. Each collaboration will be discussed before the shooting, and images will be used only with explicit consent. For ethical reasons, these projects will not involve people with whom I have an existing institutional or professional relation.
Interested collaborators are welcome to get in touch through the contact form below. After a first exchange, it will be possible to arrange a faster conversation over the phone.
