Human Margins continues the inquiry begun in Urban Schematics at a further hylomorphic stratum. There, structures organise matter and functions give form to the concrete fabric of the city. Here, these already formed environments become matter again, caught within the forms produced by human interaction.

Human life takes place within norms, roles, habits and expectations that precede individual action and make collective existence possible. Yet normativity is never complete: a residual time remains around its execution, in which its hold weakens and other relations can emerge. This remainder can itself be diverted, invested in activities whose ends escape the immediate logic of function and productivity. Yet such openings are never definitive: forms return, leisure acquires routines, experience becomes repeatable, and what appeared as an interruption can harden into another norm.

Human Margins follows this movement from normativity to residuality, from residuality to diversion, and from diversion to recursion. The margin is where this movement becomes visible: where form loosens without disappearing, where the individual exceeds the role that contains them, and where the search for authenticity encounters the forms that make it possible and absorb it again.
