Surge

Surge gathers photographs of volcanic intensity and of the marks left by the earth’s inner unrest. With Etna as its first centre, the album follows a landscape shaped by combustion, pressure, and the repeated interruption of apparent stillness. What these images seek is the moment at which the mountain ceases to appear as mere form and begins to disclose the force that inhabits it.
