Strait lines

Messina

I have come to know Messina through the parts of the city that lie closest to the strait: the shore, the seafront, the adjoining streets, and those spaces where daily life meets wear, abandonment, and persistence. These images come from that growing familiarity and from the sense that the city often reveals itself most clearly along those exposed edges.
