REFIGURATIONS

States of presence

States of Presence follows a single body through a staged succession of exposures. White light renders it open and legible. Red light divides and recodes it. Smoke and backlighting turn it into an unstable apparition. No state shows the whole person: each is a temporary way of appearing, and the portrait is their sum – a unity that never sits for the camera.
